According to the Gallipolis Daily Tribune, Aaron R. Garrett, 23, of Gallipolis was charged with breaking into a Gallia County residence and assaulting the resident while she was sleeping. He pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated burglary, which is a first degree felony.
Garrett was arrested by deputies with the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office during the early morning hours of August 3rd. Reportedly, Garrett had broken into the residence and once inside, had allegedly assaulted a resident of the home. The victim reported that she awoke to the criminal choking her.
According to the police report, a second resident of the home heard a disturbance. After the second resident found the suspect there, the suspect fled the residence. The victim called for emergency help at approximately 3 am.
He is scheduled to appear in the municipal court on Sept. 14 for hearings in regard to his various charges.
